The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in collaboration with the Turkish International Cooperation Agency (TICA) had donated a drilling rig with its accessories worth of one million USD to the Ministry of Water Resources on 16 June, 2009.

At the presence of Turkish higher officials and invited guests of the occasion, Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Kedir Tobash handed over the drilling machine to H.E. Ato Asfaw Dingamo, Minister of the Ministry of Water Resources. His Excellency expressed that Ethiopia and Turkey enjoyed and continue to benefit from close and cordial bilateral relation.

Mayor Kedir on his part said, Turkey is desirous of enhancing its cooperation with Ethiopia and providing continued tracking and technical assistance in the years ahead.

Today, Ethio-Turkish trade, investment and other cooperation areas are flourishing and growing from year to year.
